Services: PEAK were appointed as Project Manager with works being delivered under a JCT Design & Build Contract with bespoke amendments. A negotiated procurement route was selected to achieve an earlier start on site.

Project Summary: The project comprised full strip out of the former Debenhams three storey unit at Washington Square, Workington and landlord enabling works ahead of a new incoming tenant (TK Maxx). Firecrest Construction commenced the strip-out in January 2023 which comprised removal of all Debenhams fixtures and fittings, including removal of 4no. escalators and roof plant. The enabling works include shopfront replacement and façade refurbishment, structural floor infills, new partitions to form the TK Maxx demise and provision of a new staircase. Works were undertaken alongside Henry Riley Cost Consultants, CDA Architects as lead designer, RWO Civil & Structural engineers and Hydrock M&E Engineers. The total cost of the works was £1.5m.
