In the height of the summer heat, with a combined weight topping out over 30 stones, we thought a gentle stroll in the Yorkshire countryside in support of Alzheimer’s Society would be a good idea. That gentle stroll turned into the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, walking 25 miles ascending over 5,000ft with the target of completing in under 12 hours.
After a solid training programme comprising of pies, beer and an odd walk on the flat Leeds – Liverpool canal, we managed to complete the circuit in a very respectable time of 8 hours 50 minutes managing to raise £1,280 in the process.
As a company, we are actively involved in the Healthcare sector seeing first-hand the impact of dementia on individuals, their families and care professionals. We thought it would be great if we could, in some small way support this fantastic charity and the work they do. We are enormously grateful for all the support we have received in preparing for this event and the generosity shown.
