Given the success of 2022, and prospects for 2023 it was time for a night away from the norm, with an overnight stay in the Lake District at Grasmere- a beautiful village in the heart of the Lake District for the Peak Team and their partners.
We met at mid-day, for a pre-walk pint at the stunning Wordsworth Hotel, before heading to the trig point Loughrigg Fell.
Once there, the views were incredible. Pork pies were served with a G&T- thanks to Steve for carrying 24 cans to the top for us all. We stayed for an hour or so before the sun began to disappear over the horizon, then headed back down to complete the route around the lake and head to Tweedie’s bar.
A few more beers then back to the hotel ahead of our evening meal. Brilliant food and wine were served by the Wordsworth Hotel staff, with awards then music until the early hours. We had gate crashers at the latter part of the evening who asked to join as it looked like we were having fun!
Sore heads were beaten by a hearty breakfast and dip in the pool.
The team had great fun and we look forward to another successful year.
